If you go around telling people then it's not a secret.

Well, its enjoyable to keep a secret that no body knows. but it is a fun also if you are at a stranger place where no body know you and then you can share your secret with out being embarrased or some other feeling.
after all you will feel lighter if you tell your secret to strangers ....

People are horrible at keeping secrets. As in, really, really bad at it (no matter what anyone may tell you to the contrary). And you know what? We’re right to be.

Amusing question, and great that it comes from a fellow Canuck (Canadian for those expats not familiar with the term).

I guess that my secret (please don't tell anybody) is that I'm addicted to Maple Syrup. I've been clean and sober for over ten years now. Not due to any twelve step program, but because if you can actually find the real thing here in Brazil you have to sell your firstborn child in order to afford it. Gosh, it's so expensive.

Oops! I've let the cat out of the bag, guess it isn't a secret anymore. By the way, do you think you could send a couple of (small) bottles down here to Brazil via Express Mail? lol

I totally agree with you Ssaqib , people who know your life story cannot keep your secrets, at least not for long ..so revealing it to a stranger is much better because he cannot foredjuge you ; it's like throw it away in a sink ...
