Well, if they approach you, then they won't blow the whistle.  But it doesn't make it okay with the mutaween.

Are you talking to me?  Because if you are, my comment was in reference to what your students told you.

But, since you ask (me, I assume) I'll tell you something:  this place (KSA) is very 'iffy' for single females.  Married women w/hubbies will have no problem attending public events.  But single? 

That's not to say I haven't done it, but it must be done discretely (time and place blasted on an open forum isn't discrete).  Now please don't misunderstand me, I'm certainly not telling you what to do or even making a suggestion. I have a lot of respect for your tenacity in making an event actually *happen* lol

About the compounds, I heard that Metwas are entering to catch public at the compounds also. whenever they hear about compound parties.

as far as i know they are not allowed to enter compounds
they are nto against only for mixing of man and women but for other things which are allowed in compounds such as bikinis,no-abayaz etc.

Hey guys and girls if you really wanna meet (Not just talk about it as usual) you got 3 options :

1- Reem circuit : the go karting circuit and lounge can be booked (lets chip in and not be cheap)

2- Safari club : big area full of culture (but a bit hot these days) cool place to hang out.

3- Dirab golf club rent the big villa with huge swimming pool ( BBQ can be made)

all 3 places 100% safe for mixing. also if some one would like to bring a dish of their desire that would be nice too. just choose someone to organize (preferably a lady) and i'll give the contacts and pay her depending on the number and the amount.

That's cool dude! That may be true but now apparently those places won't be safe anymore! What do you think?

every place in saudi arabia depends on the owner wether the mutawa access or not. and btw all three places had mixed huge events over the past 3 years and guess what? this year their having one too. so again its the owner of the place the changes everything.....

yes man we are that type. we are CAUTIOUS

I also agree that these places are not safe and mutawaas can ome in as these are public places.
At times they even come inside a istitaha (farm house)
