Somehow, i really appreciate how Momo Ajmi is taking this...hehehe...

But i can give an example - there was once a place in Riyadh where expats can mingle, live a day as if they are in their home country and not in the kingdom...no sooner, expats started bringing their national/arab friends...and no sooner as well, came the mutawa to guard and sniff the place - Killing all the fun...

And you say you can't trust them lol come on ! How do you live here if you don't trust the police ! Police here are national ! Gov ppl are nationals ! How can you sleep at night without that trust I'm glad to have expats in my country but not to talk unbelievably about us or bad things in general about alllll of us ! That doesn't make sience ! I can get you reports of a tons of bad foreigners have done here but i don't  and I can't and who I am to judge all of them !!!

Okay.. here are *my* two halalas!  It's much more complicated than not being able to trust nationals.  It's just that there is a *boundary* ... and if an expat crosses that boundary, a national feels duty-bound to do something about it in the name of the Koran, in the name of Allah.  I think most of us understand this and it's why we try NOT to put our Saudi friends in a compromising position.

Now, of course, Popo is right about Saudi's trying to move in on our expat forum and get invited to parties.  Do they want this to report us?  OR .. do they want this because they're freakin' bored out of their minds in their *own* country (esp. the ones who have spent time in Western countries and have had a taste of personal freedom).  I think it's the later--but nevertheless there's not too much sympathy from *me* because it's up to the Nationals to change what they don't like about their country, as opposed to trying to horn in on expats and the little bit that  *we* have here.

You shouldn't be judging how we expats feel!  Actually what I said and how I feel is most understanding and generous.  You certainly can't deny what I've said about 'boundaries' and putting our Saudi friends into compromising positions.

As far as enjoying the moment, I certainly do--but I can enjoy the moment while *still* facing the facts, my friend   You don't have to pretend that everything is wonderful and lovely in order to embrace the joy.

Allie first of all we are not bored in our* own *country and how we enjoy having our familes and friends and I was here in blog to invite ppl and a lot of us do ! Secound that's your fault if you have ideas or if you know all nationals and they are like what you said they are going to report you why you making the mistake and inviting them ! Trust me they have their own life they won't bother you ! Third talking about the west and the tast of freedom lol that wasn't really a freedom ! Cuz in our thoghts freedom is having a good realationship with the gov and family  freedom is to sleep while the doors open sleeping in your house not worring that someone gonna break inn your house and rape you freedom is have your fridge is full food that's the freedom ! Not to get drunk or having a random crazy drunk ppl in the street ! Not to worry about my kids what and where are their future ! Anyways Im just saying to correct some mistakes you can't judge in general that's my point here . And as I say to all of you guys you're more than welcome here we are happy to have you all but respect us and as they say if you don't like it don't eat it ( I heard that in the state too and I adapt my self with it ) they use to tell me that all the times I'm not saying I'm jugding right now but there were right you can't satisfy all ppl ! We I'm telling you the truth 3 American families and one French girl with her husband that was even befor I go fir the last time to the states ! And still have my most beutful families in the state they are just the best

If you read the expat comments here and *listen* to what we're saying, you would understand that almost none of us have had this kind of experience here.

And there somethings might be natural for you but disgusting for others (I'm not talking about the meeting ) but in general I you should be openminded and understand it don't ever close your mind

You're missing my point, habibi   I'm not arguing in favor of mingling.  Most of us who come here have researched the laws/culture and know this is forbidden.

My point was about the Saudi guys who jump on the new foreign girls, saying that it's fine to meet, that it's okay if you're discreet, etc. etc.

This isn't RIGHT of the Saudi guys to do and some naive expat girls do believe them.

I see brother, but the discussion is going no where and it might touch upon sensitive areas for some and then blow up...we all accept the difference and we love each other as humans as we are...so lets enjoy the moment and free up our mind from mutlicultural chains..your drink and Allie on my in Bahrain...
