Can any one give me information on buying a car in Say Jakarta and bringing to Bali.
Particularly the registration or number plates !Re-registering in Bali? or you must use the existing Jakata Plate in Bali

I bought a motorbike registered in a different area of Jakarta to where I was living.
All well until it came to tax it.
That was new plates and a load of messing about.
The gentleman concerned told me I had to get a letter from the registration area office so I could re-register in the new area.
That may have been tripe to make getting the extra administration charge (Read - no choice bribe) out of me.
Another cop used the same lie when it came to renewing my licence.

I don't suppose it's really a bribe, more extortion.
