Considering a move to Joburg. Have 2 small children and a 3rd on the way in june 2013. Can you help me validate the following monthly budget (everything in rand)?

Food: 5000
School (2kids x 5 days/week): 4400
Car: 3000
Gas: 1700
Car and House Insurance: 3000
Domestic Help: 4000
Electric: 2000
Telephone: 500
Mobile 1: 700
Mobile 2: 700
SatelliteTV: 700
Gardener: 1000
Security Service: 600
Leisure: 2000
Clothing: 1000
Rent: 20000
Water: 150
Internet: 1000

I would say that R150 for water is way too low. Count on between R700 and R1000 if you are living in a house. Electricity might also be too low, budget on R2,500.

I'm not sure what you do in your house to pay that amount of money!!! We live in a house and usually pay R1000. I guess you can pay more in winter if you use heaters but R2500... It's way too much. We need other people's opinions!
