What worries you the most about the future?
Hi again Hericles,
Well, at 63 years of age what worries me about the future is that there isn't going to be much of it. LOL
Things are pretty darned good for me and I'm gonna kind of miss it.
Cheers,

Sort of reminds me of the story about the guy who found a magic lamp, rubbed it and of course out popped a genie.
Genie: Ok, you have three wishes
Guy: Great, then my first wish is for an endless supply of wishes.
Genie: Sorry, you're only allowed THREE wishes, that's the rule and genie law. So, what will your first wish be then?
Guy: (Long thoughtful pause) Ok, I want an endless supply of magic lamps.
Genie: Damn!
woehoeoeoehoeeohahhaahaha, nice joke William!!!
For me it will be that there is no future (in the future, do you get it? )

Emman,
Trust me, you're right I don't do jokes...... if I started putting some on your Laugh With Me thread either you'd stop being my friend or Expat-blog would cancel my membership. LOL
Cheers,
James

If you worked hard and saved your money you were pretty much set for life. That's no longer true. Now poor people are getting poorer and anyone helping anyone else is considered a bad thing.
It scares me that people in the richest country in the world are going to other countries to find jobs.
I worry about the future ,,, Who will take care of me when I become old and weak !!

I find things tend to work out well so I stopped caring.
You will read this in the future. At least from my point of view.
what i worry about the most . is that things are gonna get worse or stay the same ,
world is a mess
human wiped over 90 % of species & he is doing his best to complete that ,
world economy , food , water & energy are spriring down .
hate & discrimnation on every level "religion , color , sex , origin ,political views , economic statue "
there are simply too much stuff that need fixing & can't say a way to fix it
Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be)
i am 56 and i just started to live...)

two thousand years ago... you ARE living in the GREATEST country in the world (???)
Hi Primadonna,
I get it, don't know about the others but guess they do.
There won't be any FUTURE, because TOMORROW becomes TODAY at midnight. hahahaha
Cheers,
James

Fortunately, I wasn't alive 2,000 years ago.

the brilliant minds in the west have not been able to solve their economic problems. it will get worse before it gets better if it can get better. Fortunately, you can escape from the troubles back home.
What worries me is that i'm young for just a short period of time the fact that i'll get old brings a sick feeling to my stomach...
what will i do for fun?

that, my friend,
is journey of a life time.
you will find new things for fun.
but if you are living in India, you can still be having fun at 90

I am concerned about how the future will affect my family when I am no longer around.
Having said that I provide for them now and put money aside for their future.
Yes life is a journey and you take it as it comes, hopefully learning from it along the way.

Egypt has been around for a loooooong time
and will be around after we have looooooong gone
worry is about something you can do something about or nothing you can do about.
if there is nothing you can do about, why worry?
if it is about something you can do, do it and quit worrying!
Nothing is solved by worrying
The future is very uncertain i'm worried about the economy, global warming. The earth may not keep up with the 7 billion people's demand!
the earth die screaming.

instead of worrying...
go help an old lady to cross the road.
and dont leave her in the middle of the road, while you are thinking how to save the world.. )

there is a 65yo Canadian in here running around Brazil
having the time of his life with a 5yo kid.
you dont want to be accused of age discrimination.
Expats are citizens of the earth. Some even evolve and grow roots to become migrants!
BTW in 8 years time, it will be the year 2020.

Even now i'm worried what am i gonna do when i'm done being here?
i have no idea.
when you are done there, you will do something somewhere Honestly, you are NOT alone.
talk with your partner. prepare a small plan for you and the family. Your plan will change as time passes. Look at those under your care. What chance do they have if you dont give them hope.
anything else, get a crystal ball..

that's life...
if you can predict everything, life won't be that FUN...
actually..you have rights to be right and also rights to be wrong..
so,what to worry?
talk about something enough times and you get to worry about it less.
