Mayo to Aberdeenshire

Hi everyone. I am thinking of moving from Mayo, Ireland to the Aberdeen area of Scotland. I am wondering what are the general local attitudes of Aberdonians towards "Irish Catholics". I work in the quarrying industry so I could possibly be based in a rural/suburban location. I have friends (both Catholic and Protestant) from the Glasgow area but have heard that in certain regions there can be some prejudices. I personally have no problem with such issues. It's not so much myself I am worried about, I just don't want such issues to affect my wife or stepson(8) in school. I have read some forums describing Aberdonians as awful but I am sure this can't be true so I would appreciate some first hand information from actual expats in the area.
