Harrassment in KSA

Post new topic

:| If there's a group of expats that's been bothering you, harrassing, and threathening you with force, will there be help that you can get from the local Police here in KSA?

How to report of such case(s)?

Do you have to wait for them to physically assault you to do any actions?

Yes, you have to visit the nearest police station and talk to the 'naqeeb' there. Taking along someone who can speak Arabic is a good idea.

In emergency situations, you can call 999

@TLL is there such a thing as a restraining order here?

I hope you rank higher on the expat nationality scale than they do since so much here is based on passport.

Yes, there is and it's common.

They just have a population of 28M and so the controls are strong and effective.

Hehehe...Too bad such things happen...
But, can't we just say, that, One side is the oppressed, and the other one is the oppressor?

Yah know! like, "good vs. evil" thing  ;)

No doubt they are the evil :)  But since so much here is about social status, wasta, etc., I'm hoping you rank higher up the scale with the Saudi police!

I mean for YOU, silly lol  YOU get the 'restraining order' against those people who are threatening.  It means they can't come within so many meters of you or they will be arrested!!

Popolocroix

lol...i thought you wanted one...hehe...
...well that RO is what i would need (in case!), yeah!

and more to that wasta --- it also applies to your sponsor...
i remember a woman who was 'apprehended' by some mutawa - but on seeing her sponsor's name (some x prince or princess), she was then immediately released

There is a such thing as a restricted order, and no need for a court to issue it. Just tag along any Arabic speaking woman, if not take Man but better to take a woman along.

Another thing if you want to report anything to the police it's better to file it by calling 999 and declare your emergency, they are required by Saudi Law to dispatch a patrol car to your location which will be dealt with as an emergency, but if you go to file it by yourself at the police station there will be alot of bureaucratic paper to fill

Why will be preferably with a woman?
Will it do good, If in the first place, she ain't the one being harrassed?
