I arrived in Mauritius from Glasgow at the beginning of December and have been staying in a hotel since then.  However I have now rented a house in Belle Vue and my family will be arriving next week.  I was trying to find out how to get connected to the internet and get my electricity connected.  Are there choices as there are in the UK? How do I shop around?  Can anyone help?

Hello Francem,

Unfortunately, there won't be much choice. For electricity you don't have any choice at all in fact, it is the Central Electricity Board, and you will need to go a customer service centre to enquire what ducoments you need for the connection (or call - Head office 601 1100)

As for internet connection, you have 2 main providers with different types of connection:

ADSL - Orange Mauritius (Mauritius Telecom)
WIMAX - EMTEL

You also have fiber optic connections but not in Belle Vue.

Hope to have been of some help.
