I think it will be quite difficult to find a job in this sector.  This post is not to discourage you, but to help you in making a good decision.  Admin & marketing is quite popular among Mauritians, and many have advanced education in this field.

Oh ho! Are you not venting out frustration here. Lol. Your post is pathetic and only translates your apparent failure to settle down. This country is no exception and has its good & bad side like any other. From there to give such an image of Mauritius??? Lol. To some extent your words can be true - corruption, etc. Yes.

Your repeated statement: you have to someone is (sorry for word) B***. Come and meet my clients who are staying here only on the merits of their competence and investment. Maybe you had high expectations and, like many, thought that you could do everything you wanted here. No, you can't!  If you're lost in paradise, better go back to where you come from...cause paradise is only for those who're worth it.

Sorry to be blunt, didnt mean to be personal...but I can't let you blame my country like that. More so, when I've been exercing as business & immigration consultant for more than 20 years. I know the official, less official and dark routes. But I can tell you that you only avoid official route when you know you're not eligible to stay in paradise - or when you want to eat the 'fruit défendu'

One reply is enough for people like you... So don't mind if I ignore your future posts

Hi Lostinparadise

Thank you for your response. I am married in Mauritius in the year 2009 and that time i was working in Dubai but due to reccission in dubai i lost my job and since i am born and bought up in dubai i dint want to settle else where. but i find mauritius quiet and peaceful compare to other countries i have travelled. Further i have worked here in a very well known company in the year 2011 and my exp with mauritius has always been good.

And this time we are planning to stay here for good no matter what diffculties we have to face coz i am tired of wasting money on travelling from India to Mauritius and Dubai for a decent lifestyle. This time we are sure and certian to stay in Mauritius and face diffculties if we have too.

Cheers

Kevinadwani,

I found another article written entirely by young Mauritians which depicts the unemployment situation here for the local people:

Unemployment is a reality in all countries unfortunately.

hi there

Working in Mauritius as a doctor?
Hi all,
I have a question that needs to be answered. Hope some of you can help me with it.

. All doctors have to undergo a 2 year training period after passing out from medical school in order to  get their licence to practice medicine. During this period, the training body pays a small amount of money as a stipend.

When I passed out of medical school, I (and other expat batchmates of mine) were not allowed to take up this training in Mauritius. We had to come back to our respective countries to undergo the training after course.
Meanwhile, my Batchmates Mauritian friends were employed by the Ministry of Health and they trained at SSRN, JNH and VH (Candos).

My question is, why weren't we allowed to train in Mauritius?
I'm asking this question because very soon, I plan to come to Mauritius again for higher studies (specialization). There is no such training period after specialization. So I hope I am allowed to work in Mauritius as a specialist?

Thanks!

HI,MAYBE after marriage i will be the same situation as you.My life partner is into Market Research,Investment Banking,Equity Research. She is also doing publishing articles in her areas of research.I came across her through my University Batchmate, since the day I came, she was always fighting with everyone : her Parents,Laws,Career for me.
Before she was into ITES-FPO Market Research, she was ambitious, she always loves to take risks like "you" to do anything! After I informed my in laws and POI family about our committed engaged relationship,I proposed her to work in New Delhi where there was Gang Rapes, since she wanted Culture change she came to work on PIO Card in New Delhi for  ITES-FPO Market Research Market Pulse.

Afterwards she moved back to work in Mauritius for Market Research, did her MBA&EMBA online, want for a changed career into Offshore Investment Banking, worked temporarily into Offshore MNC,build up a home and want to moved back to Gurgoan or Abroad for further career advancement into Equity Research,Investment Banking.

Our relationship were difficult these years also,as sometimes I felt difficult to match with her speed. She was the only bold daughter of her family, who take her own career decisions.

My Indian parents were against our relationship & her career for my career.
Ultimately she gave me ultimatum for Fertility since 4 years we know each other&engaged, she will be moving to either Dubai,Gurgoan,South Africa and doing IVF also afterwards. She is obsessed about opening her own small company and Medi Clinic in Mauritius.
Also she wants to shift for Malaysia also she doesnt want to stay longtime at anyplace.
Till today she was doing everything for me;knowing that she will not be able to face her parents because of my parents opposing our relationship, she is rowing her boat in other direction.
