Hi,

I'm new to this forum. I've read many of the posts and gotten many good answers and advice :)

I'm visiting Malta in february to visit schools etc. because I'm moving there in August with ,my two kids. My son, who is 7 and my daughter who is 16.

My daughter will either attend Verdala or St. Edwards where she will take her IB. Do you know anything about these two schools?

My son will be attending 3rd grade next year. He is fluent in English. I've read that some public schools mostly teach in Maltese while others mostly teach in English. Does it depend on the amount of foreigners that there is? If this is so, do you know any public schools that mostly teach in English?

Do you also know any private schools that are good but not very expensive?

Regards.

After knowing the system in here I will recomend San Andrea School. Good number of expats as well.

This might be a little old but helpful...

Hi Mada 3,
It doesn't look as if many people were able to help you with your questions, which is frustrating!
I would like to know what you thought of St Edwards and the IB programme there? We are considering it for one of our children.
Are you in Malta right now?
I will be coming over on a business trip next week, perhaps we could meet up.  We have children of a similar age as yours.
Bye for now...

We are moving in August as well.
We've chosen Verdala for our daughter to do the IB.
St. Edwards was too oldfashioned for us. It is really a boys only school where some girls attend the last two years for the IB. Kids wear uniforms and that's not our thing either.
We found Verdala to have a much more open atmosphere and a more natural boys/girls ratio.
Best of luck!

Hi,

We aren't in Malta right now. We are first moving in August.

We visited both St Edwards and Verdala in February. The IB at St Edwards seems very good. Dominique (the IB coordinate) showed us around and gave us information about the school. She is extremely sweet and caring for her students. The school also seems quite diciplined. Since, we will not be living near St Edwards we chose Verdala.

Don't hesitate to contact me if you need some more information :)
