On behalf of the entire Expat-blog Team, welcome on board and welcome to Brazil. I hope your experience here on the blog will be both enjoyable and informative. I'm sure you will make lots of new friends here too.

I get into Rio about once a month and am planning on trying to organize some kind of Expat-blog Meet-up in the first half of this year. I will keep everybody posted.

Cheers,

Hi Daniel,
Welcome to Rio.
a great way to meet people and practice your Portuguese is the meetup group "learn Portuguese - Aprenda inglês". It is a group of gringos and Brazilians meeting every Monday at 19:00 at the beach in Leme. See you there. :)

Wonder why nobody ever want to call themselves "Jim Jones" anywhere in South America? Guess nobody ever forgets something so tragic.
