Hi,
I'm new on the Libya Expat Forum.
I will move to Tripoli next March for a long journey...
Can I drive with an european driving licence? Will I need an international one? (I read that the traffic it's quite insane...)
Regards,
Cmf

Some say that a full national licence (plus official arabic translation) is ok in Libya.

Personally, I never leave home without my very special and impressive Libyan driving license. It hasn't failed me once yet, although I did get a slap (accompanied by a request along the lines "anything for the boys") for having long hair...but that's off topic

Get your license translated by your embassy, you should be OK for a month until you get a local licence sorted.
