Hi everyone,

I am thinking moving to Malta in the end of April and I have seen a nice property in the area of Sannat, Gozo. Can anyone please give some details in regards to this location? If there are any nurseries, schools, hospital and shops nearby.

Thanks in Advance!

Regards,
Antonio

Several shops and a pharmacy.  Nearest hospital is in Victoria. Big school (by Gozo standards ) . It's only 15 mins walking to Victoria. Or 3 minutes by hourly bus

Antonio

I also understand that from time to time you could have Billy Connolly as a neighbour.

Thanks for the link redmik. Would be nice to meet Billy Connolly personally :)

If you do and I have this on the best information, do not treat him as a celebrity. He doesn't like it, he prefers to be regarded as just another everyday person.

i do believe that Alan Sunderland (ex Arsenal, Ipswich and Wolves) has a place over there too - we regularly bump into him here in Mellieha.

Yes to Billy and Alan having a property in Sannat - we also have Robyn Askwith (confessions of...) living in Sannat

now theres a thing never ever seen here - a business opportunity - window cleaning......

Wow...it looks like there are few celebrities living in Sannat :D

The thing is, I have seen couple of videos on Youtube about Sannat, and it seems a very (too) quiet place. Would you guys recommend Sannat for living? Or is there any other area in Gozo that you could also recommend, rather than Sannat.

I will be working from home so, I won't need to settle in a specific area, just looking for an affordable and nice area to raise a 4 years old son :)

Thanks again for all your replies!

Then may I suggest you need to seek a place near a school?
Perhaps, that should be your starting point?
Best wishes.

Hi redmik, thanks again for your reply.
I was told by the guy from Remax, the agent I am dealing with in regards to an apartment I might be interested, that there's a primary school nearby. I am not sure from what age the kids in Malta start going to school, and as my son is only 4 years old, I will probably need to look for nursery. Hopefully, I will receive further advice on this.

Many thanks,
Antonio

There are a lot of farms in Sannat so make sure your place isnt near one. Everywhere in Gozo is safe but most foreigners tend to settle in places like Nadur, Xaghra, San Lawrenz and Gharb.
