3 years in Beijing

Hi all,

I'll be coming to Beijing this summer to start a 3 year minimum contract at the French international school of Beijing, so I decided to send a friendly hello for starters.

As for everyone, the main concern is accomodation, so here goes:
Knowing that the school is on two sites, (Hepingxiqiao and Nongzhanguan metro stops), would you have any recommendations as to the choice and place of accomodation?. Considering my wages, I guess 7K max for the rent would be fair, not minding a studio or 1 bedroom flat.

Apart from that, I'll be happy to meet people and discover this fascinating city ... by bike!

Try looking for accommodation in the San Yuan Qiao area.

I'm surprised the International School does not provide you with free housing. I have a friend who worked at International Schools in two different cities in China and each time he got free housing for the duration of his work contract.
