First let me thank all of you for your help. This move with my girls is overwhelming right now.

Is it true that I can't bring in my girl's stuffed animals. I understand not bringing all of them in, but having to tell my 4 year old she can't bring any in will be heartbreaking.

Also no dolls? We have a doll house & lots of Fisher Price little people toys. Are these not allowed either? I have chosen toys for my kids that both can play with and that will last more than a few years. I am hoping more can come with us than I am finding on the restriction list.

Thanks again for any help you all can give.

Xenolol

What restriction list are you looking at? We brought stuffed animals for my kids with no problem. Did not bring any toys as they are easily bought here (Toys R Us, ELC, and local shops), so I cannot confirm/deny that.

Honestly, they are unlikely to stop you or say anything to you if you are a Western family.

The restriction list came from the company my husband works with and we were told directly by the company that will be moving us and the person in Saudi Arabia looking for us a spot on a compound...needless to say I have been stressing. The toys we have are the ones they have gotten over the years and I really would not like to buy all new ones again. Especially since his company is paying for all of our stuff to be shipped overseas.

Thank you for the help...I hate to break a 4 year olds heart with all the nos.

How long have you been in Saudi. We did learn on friday that no 120 volt electrics can come in staring at the end of May. Which of course coming from the U.S. means 95% of our small electrics.

sammygirl

You can bring all their toys.. i've lived here all my life and bought stuff toys from abroad without any trouble ..

Freshlikesushi

yeah, not sure who you are talking to, but stuffed animals are nowhere on teh list of things not to bring.

unless its like a blowup sex doll or something

ahmadaq

I will add a new worry/ stress to your move…Am thinking that the people who provided you with this list have not updated it at least for the last 30 years, so it will leave one wondering what other nonsense they are telling you ..worried ?!  you should be hehehehe  (an evil laugh)..

You can buy all sorts of toys here and there are no problems or restrictions at all to bring them into the country. I brought back with me a human size doll one time coming back from Asia.

You can leave Barbie at home ,we don’t want to see any catfight between her and Fulla (the Arabic virsion of Barbie ) over kem. :D

stressedmom

You are all making me feel better and better. I know that most of our information is coming from the companies branch in Europe so who knows how old the list is.

Ahmadq I was going to leave Barbie anyways, not my favorite of their toys.

Freshlikesushi - where did you find a list of items or did your work give you one?

johnkuriakose

Stressed mom, as long as there is no hidden camera toys you are all fine to bring it whatever toy you want. Saudi Arabia for first time planners is a night mare. you will soon understand, (as soon as you reach here) it was all for nothing.

Freshlikesushi

Only thing we were told is no bible no porn

PMUSA

Fresh, so that mean I can bring my guns? Maybe just a few? lol

Freshlikesushi
