i felt it's so strange that something as eseential as abaya will be very hard to find!! anyway, a friend of mine told me about tiba market, it's a market( so2) where you can find everything with very low prices. i bought a nice one with color stiches at the sides with only 100 riyals...it's in king fahd road but i dont know the directions as i'm still new here but can ask my husband and tell you if you want. hope this was helpful

In centerpoint mall - exit 17,

Taiba has loads of Abaya shops with every style you can imagine. It's a souq(market) at the end of Olaya St., after Kingdom Tower

Al-Owais has some good abaya stores, and Taiba has a very wide range of abayas to choose from. The prices there are also affordable. You will find abayas starting from SR 200. Royal Mall also has many abaya stores. You will find both affordable and expensive abayas there. If you're looking for cheaper abayas, look in Al-Deera. I never went there, but I heard many people say that the abayas there are much cheaper. However, I personally prefer to spend a little more on an abaya or two so they can last. The cheaper ones don't last very long and I keep taking them to the tailor which is hectic. There is a store in Al-Mousa which I really like, I believe it's called Perfect Palace. It's a bit expensive (not designer-abaya expensive though). Last time I went there, the abayas there had a really good quality and were very elegant. Since your budget is SR 400, I assume you will find pretty decent abayas.

Correction: You will find abayas starting from SR 200 80.

No one mentioned Olaya Aqaria Mall # 01.
And the Naseem Ladies Market.
And the Bushra Ladies Mall on exit 14.

Wow! Really? That was a shocker. The plain abayas that I see in Taiba are usually at least SR 100-150, and the salesmen told me more than once that only plain abayas cost SR 100 whereas other abayas start from SR 200. I guess I'm not a smart shopper. :P And I suck at bargaining.

TheLegendLeads

You must be good I'm sure; coz I think anyone who claims to be a good bargainer most of the time is so :)

There are hidden factors in fact. Most salesmen may be like: "Arab lady coming in? Add 15%" .... now, who can bargain on that? :(

So true. I assume they mostly trick foreigners into believing they're buying something cheap when in fact they're paying more than others. Taxi drivers do this all the time.
