Hi All,
I'm Venkat from Gurgaon, India. I'm currently working as R&D Manager in an auto ancillary manufacturing company. I'm a Masters in Automotive engineering with post qualification experience of 3.5 years and overall professional work experience of 9 years.I'm willing to pursue my career in automotive industry. Hence i'm desperately looking for professional jobs in Germany. I've chosen Germany as my destination as there might be a good scope for automotive professionals considering stringent visa regulations in US and UK. I've heard that German embassy offers a 6 month job seeker visa. I've started learning German language and planning to pass A1 exam with good grade. I have the following queries:
1. How much do they charge for an individual to get a job seeker visa ? (Y axis consultant said that they would charge 4200 Rs (application fee) + 45000 Rs (Document verification charges)) Is that all ?
2. If i need to take my wife, does she have to apply the job seeker visa as a separate individual or can we get one temp visa for both of us ?
3. How much funds had to be shown truly if we need to get a job seeker visa ?
4. Do we really need to carry similar fund while registering with local police authority in Germany to get the actual 6 month visa ?
5. What form of funds are acceptable for a successful applicant ? - Savings account/Fixed deposit/ liquid cash ?
6. What is the cost of living in Germany ? Does it vary much from one city to another ?
7. Do we experience any severe racism issues in the local market or at companies ?
8. Does automotive companies accept job seeker visa equivalent to German citizens for advertised job positions ?
9. Do we need to have international driving license ? (I suppose it should be valid)
10. Above all, is it safe for us to stay in Germany without any issues ?
I know that the questions are too exhaustive. However, i would appreciate if anyone could share their true experiences and valuable opinion. It would really help us to decide whether we should step in to this task or not. Please respond at the earliest.
Hello enr_venkat.
Welcome to Expat.com!
In meantime, do not hesitate to read the other threads on the Germany forum.
Thank you,
Aurélie
I am also facing similar problem. I think it will be easier for we all if someone suggest us a consulting agency, which can help us in this matter.
@Rama_1. I know few consultants like Y-Axis, Opulentus etc., I haven't met any one personally for any counselling. I'm planning to meet Y-Axis next week. I don't think that they will answer all my questions. Let me hope for the best. Please feel free to share anything as our vision seem to be the same.
I would like to suggest you India Coaching & Consulting. It is German based Human Resource consultant. I heard they work directly with their local partner in Hamburg & Frankfurt. I am also planning to contact them and I will share my experiences with you people.
@Sumanlama,
I've checked online about India Consultancy. I suppose any popular consultant would have contacts in respective destinations. However lets check it out and hope for the best.
Ive talked with India Coaching & Consulting. It sounds really great. They have different type of offers. First of all they will optimize your CV and application letters according to German standard and apply directly to German companies as your choices/qualification.
@Sumanlama,
Could you please provide me their contacts in Gurgaon/Delhi NCR ?
How much did you spend for consulting ?
They dont have any branch in India. But u can contact :
India Coaching & Consulting
ADDRESS:Mühlendamm 84A,

PHONE: +49(0)4025776769-0
FAX: +49(0)4025776769-9

@Sumanlama
Thanks for the information. I've contacted the concerned in charge for consulting. I got few questions regarding fund maintenance. Consultant said that we need to have 900 EUROS per month during our stay. If we stay in Germany initially for 6 months, total fund tantamount to 392400 INR as on today. Do i have to carry 788400 INR for myself and my wife ?
Are you in touch with those consultants ? What are your thoughts ? Could you please share your experience ?
@Suman lama,
Finally i signed up an easy start consulting with India Coaching and Consulting based out in Hamburg, Germany. It took almost 2 weeks for detailed discussions and decision making. They are really doing well. Hope you too have signed up with ICC. Keep me posted.
Hi enr_venkat,
I am an IT engineer with 6+ years of experience on Java J2EE development. I am B Tech graduate in Computer Engineering, currently working with an MNC at pune.I am also thinking to contact India Coaching & Consulting very soon. Before that have few questions : -
1. As u said you have already started the process, Which type of service you have applied for ? whether JOb seeker visa or any thing else in which they will try for your JOb offer first, hence you will be secure on EU blue card ?
2. How much they cost for it?
3. How Is German language ? Is it hard to learn ?
4. Could you please share your contact and other info or links on German work permit visa on my mail id : amit.dharpawar@gmail.com.
Kindly awaiting for your response. Thanks in advance ...
@adharpawar
Following are the answers for your questions:
1. As u said you have already started the process, Which type of service you have applied for ? whether JOb seeker visa or any thing else in which they will try for your JOb offer first, hence you will be secure on EU blue card ?
A. Easy Start Consulting process (try to get the job offer first and then apply for EU Blue card)
2. How much they cost for it?
A. They would charge you 499 Euros max.
3. How Is German language ? Is it hard to learn ?
German language sounds interesting but tough though. I'm sure it could be done if you have passion in learning language and it depends on how you learn it. I kicked off with in-house training at our company but it has been suspended due to lack of time. Though classes were suspended, i always had passion to continue my learning. Sometimes i do self paced learning session and sometimes i don't. I'm planning to write A1 exam in the next 6 months after my training at Goethe Institut, Delhi. Since i'm a working professional, i have registered for the blended learning course for 6 months before i could take up an exam. Just Google Goethe and contact your nearest center for further information. Once you learn the language it is essential to get it certified from German Consulate / Goethe. It might help you in future.
4. Could you please share your contact and other info or links on German work permit visa on my mail id :
EU blue card is the only permanent work permit that is available as far as my knowledge is concerned. Job seeker visa is meant only for freshers/recent pass out/university grads.
You may reach me at aspirevenman@gmail.com
IT and Automotive industries in Germany need highly skilled professionals. I'm from automotive simulation background. I'm hoping for the best. Good luck for your future.
Hi, Please i am suggesting you to don't go for Y-Axix. They will not give you proper information about your visa process for IT JOB SEEKER VISA actually u have to prepare documents yourself because in consulate they will ask you questions abt ur documents and one thing if u want to approach Opeluntus just ask them wht the documents process.. So please do carefully thanks..!!

Hi ,
I found this forum much late but it is much helpfull though .
I am also trying for job seeker visa in germnay and was gathering information regarding that.
I had contacted Y-axis spoken with them , and the said about rs61k for consulting and and nearly 45k for visa processing , same as many has told earlier . i have 3 .5 yrs exprnce , have been in automotive domain working in robert bosch .
Also contacted s.b.international , kolkata , though not sure how secure that is . i got to know for staying 6 months nearly 4 lakhs is needed. So all total it is coming 4 + 1 (for visa +y-axis) + 50 (travel) = 5.5 lakhs roughly .
i have some doubts :-
What are the chances of getting the job ?? I mean is ther any consultancy or any ody to help me out in getting the job , or i have to search in internet only ?? Does automotive companies accept job seeker visa equivalent to German citizens for advertised job positions ?
I am really not aware of the job market , i am lookign to work in automotive domain and utilize my experience .
I reside in Delhi ,It would be if somebody can clear my querries or have any consultancy firm where i can go and ask them .
Regards
Debayan

EU Blue Card* System
On 1st August 2012 the EU Blue Card system started in Germany. People with a recognised university degree or a degree comparable to a German degree have easier access to the German labour market. To get the Blue Card, they must give proof of their qualifications and a concrete job offer. The job offer has to provide annual gross earnings of at least 46,400 Euros. Then the approval of the Federal Employment Agency is not necessary. The EU Blue Card facilities and arrangements also apply for highly qualified foreign nationals with a background in mathematics, IT, the natural sciences or technology, as well as Pharmaceutical, medical. The requirement is that they are offered the same salaries compared to German employees and their annual gross earnings would be at least 36.192 euros. But here the approval of the Federal Employment Agency is necessary. Self-employed people can get a residence permit if their planned business project with its financial basis and economic impact is assessed as being in Germany's economic interest or meeting a specific regional need.
