I need help on actual salary range

Post new topic

Hi there!

I received a job offer from 2 different company in Port Moresby and Lae and I'm still in a week of process of package negotiation.

I can consider working in this country but I don't know the salary range for supervisory and managerial position?

I'm in the field of engineering professional with 13+ years of experience.

What would be the decent monthly salary range should I say or accept?

accommodation, water/electric bills, and transportation will be covered by the company.

Australian, Canadian, US, Euro, etc expot are welcome to reply!

Hope to hear from you

Thanks Pamplemousses,

Hope someone have an idea on my question

As a civil superintendent with 40 + years experience who has worked in PNG off and on, I can get a net salary of $16,000 per month on a 6 week on 2 week off roster with all flights back home paid for by employer. Medical insurance, accommodation etc covered by employer.
I have to pay my own superannuation  contributions out that amount

Engineers get around $10,000 per month. Remember that taxes are high in PNG, same rate as Australia.

As you are a Filipino I think you will be offered less money as you will not be classed as an expatriate but as a TCN, Third Country National.

$10,000 will be fair enough. What's the percentage in tax in PNG?

stumpy

Around 30%.
Your salary as a TCN would be around between $4000 and $6000 net after tax.

30% is quite big. Fair enough for minimum $10,000 + less tax + expenses...

got the job already
