Is there any PADI Scuba clubs in Sharbatly Village, if so can you purchase equipment?

There are many PADI divers in Jeddah, many places for equipment, many beaches and boat trip organizers, the most popular is Desert Sea Divers (google for it).

Adeel Zahid

Desert See Divers is really a best choice....

I would STRONGLY ADVISE all women who go diving to ensure you have your partner by your side when with a diving instructor.

Read between these lines please.

If anyone wants excellent diving then they should come down to Al-Lith (180 km south of Jeddah. The marine park here is fantastic Much more to see than Jeddah. Often windy though in summer so maybe best to wait until the sandstorm season has past.

How about buying diving equipment?  I won't be bringing any of my kit due to the hassle.  So I will be looking at buying new stuff when I get to Jeddah.

Al-Lith diving..................

I always encourage women to go on a dive. Yet I strongly recommend expat women diving either off Jeddah or Al-Lith ENSURE YOUR PARTNER IS WITH YOU AT ALL TIMES  when with an instructor.

Is Shaunmoore a woman?

I know.  That's why I don't understand her insistence about women on your thread.

suzan

I am not too sure if you can read; I was responding to bodaqua and whichwitch.

Am sure there are many great diving instructors; however there are bad eggs in every hatch...

Females have been sexually assaulted during a dive. I have urged women to report these incidents to the police, however they won't, as it causes hassle and embarrassment.

Yeah true this happens a lot here, but when in groups this can be controlled....

Also most expats should usually get scuba instructors from a know circle.. which works for them in terms of business and for the rest of us as a safety measure

And not only during a dive, but also during private tutoring.

It is illegal in islam for FEMALE to be alone with non-relative male. So for them, including police, the female is an adulteress and the male is a victim.

Alliecat

Since it was a male who mentioned Al-Lith diving on a male's thread, and you replied by mentioning Al-Lith diving and then launched into your warning (again), it leaves me wondering who exactly can't read.

Quite correct. And the men who take advantage know this.

Aboudi.khan

did you face harassment from the instructor while diving or what? :P

Does that include being served by a male when you are the only person in the shop or alone attending a patient? I think not.
As for diving, some expat women who go on these, endure assault and harassment. Though personally I have never experienced any harassment problems,  I have had to deal with these expats. If you are alone in Saudi, like Alliecat,:dumbom: then I would not recommend diving. What I would recommend when lonely single women have their summer break, is to return back to their country. One then can go diving and brush off the loneliness of life. Thus returning refreshed with a smile in their heart for all.
