la belle aurore

Bonjour,

I'm a Canadian and have been living in Mexico for 17 months now, coming from Quebec, Canada.

My husband, working in aerospace, accepted an assignment in this beautiful country so we moved to Mexico.  Having worked myself also in aerospace, it was a good opportunity for me to take a break from the work zone and venture into this country.

La Belle Aurore is my personal blog and also the title of my family recipes cookbook, that I just published while living here in Mexico, regrouping my passion for good food, good people and handmade artisan soap, using local ingredients from the land.

What a great country Mexico is.  The weather is amazing and the mexicans are great simple people.  I have made many friends since I have been living here and for the time been, I'm not thinking about moving out.

My favorite Mexican dish is : Mexican Ensalada, done with a sweet creamy dressing (lime juice, sugar, fresh cream, salt and pepper and a dash of canola oil), salad leaves, avocado, local farms cheese, green onions, cilantro and broken up pieces of tortillas.  To my palate, the farm cheese make the salad as I buy it just next door, from an old man passing door to door, always carrying with him one or two containers of fresh made cheese.  No price tag on this one...

Stop by my blog, I'm wrapping up my project of 35 cookies in 35 days, just in time for the Christmas season!  You will see great pictures and will have a chance to bake a storm of cookies!
