Hi everyone
I have just moved to Bxls with my 2 kids (aged 4 & 8) from Singapore. Now in the process of finding an apartment and would like to find out if EU 2400.00 net a month are enough for the 3 of us, est. rent for a 3 bedroom apt EU 975.00 in Forest.
Could anyone tell me how much are utilities (electricity, heating, gas, water), TV & internet, phone & mobile, etc.?
Thanks a lot!
R.

costs depend on your usage. I can only give you my costs and I am very frugal with usage.
150m2 house, 6 people in it
insurance = 31 per month
water = 31 per month
gas+electricity = 180 per month
TV/internet/phone = 62 per month :-(
(that is before call charges)
so for us it costs €304 a month

You'll have 100 euro ish per year to pay for household Brussels region tax, don't know exact cost as we're exempt.

Just make sure your monthly rent and bills are not higher than 50% of your net income and you'll be fine, so no higher than €1335 per month - included in that is your Child Benefit I assume you'll qualify for.
