Job hunting in Bangkok

Post new topic

mia28

I've been studying and living in Bangkok for the last 2 years. I just graduated with an MBA degree and am now looking out for a job here. I have a marketing and strategy major and 2 years of work experience at advertising agencies.

Any ideas how I should go about it?

All ideas and suggestions welcome.

Cheers!

Hey there:

Make a standard presentation letter, and a nice CV  ( not more than 3 pages). Have a search in google of jobsites, and if they have rss feed, join them. And apply to everything that fits your needs, by copy pasting your presentation letter and attaching your cv.

I have done this for 7 months straight, and a week ago I got a very nice job. If you send them by the thousands you will have more chance to get something than if you apply just to few.

The site I found my job was thailand craiglist, so you can start from there perhaps.

Hey Luis,

Thats very good advice, thanks a ton for writing! I wanted to know though, how do you find these sites? and where do you see whether they have an rss feed??

cheers!

Just using Google really. Like for example, I just made a search of: "jobs+bangkok+marketing" and there are 728,000 entry's for this.

Here some of the URL's that I found:

-http://www.jobsabroad.com/listings.cfm/countryID/87/cityID/2273
-http://job-search.jobstreet.com/thailand/job/vacancy/spez/marketing-business-development-jobs
-http://www.prtrexecutive.com/current_vacancies_executive_recruitment_firms_bangkok_Jobs.php
-http://www.daniweb.com/forums/thread257737.html
-http://www.resourcelinkthailand.com/vacancies_/vacancy_list.asp?type=24
-http://www.intel.com/jobs/thailand/sites/bangkok.htm

And so on and so forth....

The RSS is a small icon in orange that has a white dot and two, one quarter of a circle at the top right side of the dot.
Like this: http://www.dinel.us.es/images/entorno/rss.png

This will give you the option to keep you informed of new positions available that keep coming.

Same as if those websites have an Email notifier (newsletter). So you can perhaps subscribe to them, so they, as well, keep you posted of what's hot or new.

Good luck hunting!
:)
