Hi Pushpa,

I would suggest you visit the website of the Board of Investment where you can find all useful information about investing or starting up a business in Mauritius or you can write directly to this lady at the BOI who is very helpful.

Wishing you success with your project

Puspha

hi.. thank u very much for ur info

Dear Puspha

The idea sounds great. However, I fear that you won’t qualify as an investor in Mauritius as per the criteria of the Board of Investment.

Indeed, your business should generate a turnover of at least US$ 600,000/- annually.

Unless, I am highly mistaken, it is quite unlikely that the business envisaged could generate so much income.

Still, you could think about some other, more lucrative activities if you so wish!

Cheers;)

Vayid - you are either misinformed, or just trying to scare Pushpa away!!

Required turnover is Rs600,000 NOT US$!!

Below text from the BOI website:
Self-employed      Income from the business activity should exceed MRU 600,000 annually with an initial investment of USD 35,000 or its equivalent in freely convertible foreign currency.

My sincere apologies for this oversight.

Be assured that I am not trying to scare anyone away, especially from Mauritius.

Indeed, the figure is Rs 600,000, and NOT US$ 600,000/-

Cheers
