The life after death whether you believe all these Vietnamese spiritual stuff keeps people respecting their elderlies and instills some discipline in life. Some don't believe in these religious teachings but believe in keeping the tradition otherwise the kids will get mouthy and unteachable.

I also like how the Christian religion goes around the world helping those in need. Sure some people abuse any religious teachings to their benefit but it is religion and traditions that keep society from hating one another except for Islam.

Religion is something very personal.  Whatever work for you, is the motto.

I dont partipate in those rituals because find it's unwise to rely on info/commandment from unknown and unverifiable sources. Well, the urge to find something concrete to help dealingwith the unknowns is something I understand, though. Same deal with I ching: I believe in that, but how the heck do I know the I ching master is the guy who can make accurate readings?

On the other hand, the nature of unorganized mess make for easy fakes and quackeries.

In comparation to that, the aloof God of Christianity make for some compelling argument.

I'm sorry Paradise but everything you say about Cao Dai is wrong but if you search on the internet you can get accurate information.
