To any members of the forum who have high school age children or college aged family members One of my goals once I reach Japan is to teach history at either high school or college level. What I am curious about is whether or not students are taught there own history over European or the other way around. By knowing this I can in some ways bone up on what I should be prepared to do. Am I gonna be looking at kings and queens or emperors and shoguns?

I understand you have to avoid any truth about 1930 to 1945 and be sure never to mention comfort girls or anything else about Japanese war crimes.

Honour, in my book, has a bit about admitting your own mistakes.
Their government has little.
