Advice about domestic help

Hi all. We've a small year-end dilemma. There's a lady who's been coming in to help us with the cooking & cleaning for the last 2 years now. She's in her 40's and has been extremely reliable and trustworthy. In fact she keeps a key to the house and comes in while we're away at work - she's that trustworthy.

So this year, in addition to the normal year-end cash bonus, we'd like to give her a little something as a token (apart from the money) and are looking for suggestions. We've never previously given anything for xmas or divali or other religious festivals and would like it to be a neutral 'Bonne année' sort of thing

We're particularly interested in hearing from our Mauritian friends as to what would be an appropriate or maybe even normal gift. Something not too expensive so as to be awkward or too cheap so as to cause offence...

Thanks in advance for your ideas and a very Happy New Year!!   :)

Hi,
Well for me I would probably do a small shopping for her just the basic needs.
But of course it depends on the person, if she is in need.

Otherwise something for her kids (if she got some).

That's my ideas.

Wish you a Happy New Year
