Weekly Day Out!

Hello friends,

I would like to initiate a weekly event that everyone, especially expatriates, can participate in regardless of your age. The main point of these events is to build better networking, be it among expatriates or even locals. Before this, I have initiated some other casual meetups on weekends. I have met very nice people and have developed great networking with foreigners and even locals who joined me. We did many things including having a few cups of coffee at decent cafes in Kuala Lumpur, exchanging experiences and thoughts, window-shopping together and even watch movies! We were not even friends, we were complete strangers who met through Expat.com, but we spend the times as if we had been friends. These were one of the greatest experiences I have had since I started these meetups. After a while, I stopped posting on this blog due to schedule hecticness. Now, I would like to start these plans again.

Starting from 2 weeks ago, every Sundays, my friends (locals and some some young foreigners) and I have been spending our time at one of the bars or cafes in KLCC, sometimes Pavilion, discussion about general issues. We stay in touch and set a few topics for the following weeks' discussions. Be it about our lifestyles, education, music, or even our holiday planning. We mainly discuss about the significance of something and how it affects the society and stuff like that, you know. So far, it has been such a wonderful plan. Everything has been very fun, casual and very full of knowledge as well, I must include.

By hosting and participating these meetups, hangouts, events, whatever you may want to call it, has allowed me to exchange ideas aside from just building a broader networking. If you are an expatriate who do not know what to do over the weekends, or who are feeling a little bit lost in this country, you might want to just join us for a few cups of coffee. It would be really, really pleasing and welcoming.

If you want to join us, please do not hesitate to contact me through emailing (zaffean@gmail.com) or even by just leaving a comment down below, indicating that you are interested. If you have any questions, you can even list them down below or in an email to the one stated above.

I look forward to hearing from you guys! Have a wonderful day. Cheers :-)

Hello,

I'm contacting you because I need some help. My mother has recently moved to Kuala Lumpur to live with my sister in law and my niece. Although she has settled in very well she misses contact with other people. If she could make some friends to have a cup of coffee with from time to time or to participate in some activities that would make her a lot happier.

Could you provide me with some information about things to do for expats in KL.

Thank you for your help!
