Hi everyone,

My name is Kwang, i'm a young girl from Bangkok, Thailand. Recently i got a contract in Dubai with Home center stores, a very reknowned chain in the Middle East but I'm concerned about my new job there. Is there anyone who work with the same firm or have information about work's conditions ?

Any share of information or opinions is welcome :)

I'm from Dubai, UAE born and raised.... So please take advise from people who know better.

It's best to check government websites before coming to a country and know all the rulessss!!!  these are government websites:

If you are among the 32-36 countries UK Citizens included, you can enter UAE and have your visit visa upon ARRIVAL and wont need and agency or anyone to sponsor you. DON'T PAY PEOPLE FOR YOUR VISA!

Please check here.

If you are not of the 32 countries who has this benefit then you'll need someone related to you to sponsor you or have a company here sponsor your visit visa.

You should also know about the health care facts and you should get yourself checked before entering the country and is willing to work here.

I REALLY DONT WANT PEOPLE TO HAVE A HARD TIME COMING HERE! I'VE SEEN THIS HAPPEN OVER THE YEARS AND RECENTLY A CO WORKER WHO HAD TO BE SENT BACK. I really truly feel for people who take the risk in moving to a new country.

Hello,

I have working for same co. for 17+ years. I joined the co. when there was only first store of HC. Now you can see strength of the co. My employee ID was under 100. Now there are more than 42,000 employees. Co is very good. You take care of your job. Co. will take care of you.

Thanks

manala

home centre stores is a good group. you should take the job. Nothing to worry. Dubai is a friendly country. Just make sure if you are being provided accomodation  and transport.

Hello Kwang,

I hope that you can already begin to see, exactly what you are going to go through with men once you get to Dubai.

You post asking about a company and all the men come out of the woodwork looking for dates, marriage, etc. (and we all know what the "etc." is - unfortunately). This is only going to get worse once you get to Dubai so you need to be very careful. They'll sweet talk you, sweep you off your feet, promise undying love ---- but it's all pure lies!!! Take care of yourself.

Cheers,
