visa on arrival

There's a lot of names of dodgy companies on the French embassy site.
And it's pretty up to date.
The best bet is to peruse Tripadvisor for latest info.
I don't think it's a matter of getting knocked back,more so the fact that the Co. involved in Visa supply has merely run off with the application fee.

Never heard of that in all my dozens of trips . I use Hotels-in-vietnam , always reliable , efficient and professional

Wouldn't it be easier to get your visa directly from the Vietnam Embassy in Australia?

There is nothing hard about getting a VOA and saving yourself 40-50 dollars , just think how many cold Tigers that equates too ?????

I have used a website called Vietnam-Visa.com twice. First time I paid extra for the VIP service so I didn't have to wait around, but processing time still took an hour. I don't recommend this, just pay for the normal service. Also don't waste your time/fees converting money into US dollars for the $45 arrival fee. There is an ATM to the left of the Landing Visa area, they obviously accept VND.

I have used myvietnamvisa dot com 3 times in the past for friends and family to come over from the US. I have never had any problems with them. They also send a pdf of the form you need to fill out at the airport so you can have everything filled out in advance.

The embassies have been doing this for years, its money out of their pockets, thats why they always post warnings.

I have used hotels-in-vietnam for 5 years and never had an issue , prompt , polite and courteous

I contacted the previous poster hoa ha and enquired as to prices and they were $5 more expensive than Hotels-in-vietnam

in california the price of the ticket includes visa entry.  the OP is from Australia i think?

I had some trouble ordering with hotels-in-vietnam.  They couldn't process my credit card, then asked me to email it! I wasn't cool with that, so I tried to send it via paypal. The transaction wouldn't complete when using the paypal through their website, so I had to manually send money from the regular paypal site. It did finally work. Just a heads-up for anyone planning on using this site.

Interesting , never happened to me in the 19 times i have used them over the years , maybe just a case of the heebie Jeebies

sorry Happy8888 i should clarify.   the Vietnamese travel agencies here in Cali offer visa service along with the tickets for a small fee.   after purchasing the ticket you hand over your passport and approximately 1 weeks time you receive your visa stamp.    the agency that i use waive the visa fee but i decided to get the 5 year visa stay which cost me an extra 30$.   maybe a vietnamese travel agency in Australia has the same service.

@OBB-5year visa stay ????  I am afraid not , not possible . 3 month max or sometimes you can jag it in Cambodia and get a year , PRIMARILY Sihanoukville 

Once one arrives in Vietnam on say a 3 month visa , they can then renew it 2 times within Vn without leaving . However on the 3rd renewal you must leave and the process starts again. Renewal fees through an agency are generally about $80 USD

I have the same thing as OBB actually- I also went through my travel agent who was able to get the ticket and my 'visa' for me- what we got is the 5-year visa exemption that's available to overseas Vietnamese and their spouses/children- OBB got it for a lot cheaper than me though D: my travel agent charged me close to $100....but it's definitely less of a hassle than the standard visa process- we get multiple entry for 5 years, but will have to make a border run every 90 days or do the $10 visa extension every 90 days if we don't want to leave the country. Yes maybe the 5 year visa exemption is pertaining to Viets and spouses , but i dont think too many people that use this forum fit in to that category , thus looking at the issue from the "other side " ,would be more relevant in this instance

Just putting it out there incase any viet kieus are unaware or anyone else might be curious I wish someone had told me the first time I went to Vietnam.....would have saved me a lot of money/trouble.... D:

There are quite a few of us with VEC's here on the blog. It is relevant to us and kntrinh makes a valid point, there are still many VK that are not aware of the program

Not sure if anyone has mentioned these.

The use of .gov in their website address was to make people believe they were an official government site.

I use myvietnamvisa.com and have never had any problems, but the Australian Embassy website does have some warnings about fake sites, so go with a recommended one.

I didn't realise, till last trip but they have a consulate here in Perth, saves my beer money in priority post fees $130 to victoria or $85 in Perth
