Hello: I have been here in Athens for a year. Previously applied for a resident permit.
Hi All, I am coming for a holiday in September for a month with 3 others and a toddler, was wondering if anyone knows of somewhere cheap to buy a car, was looking at car hire but for the price was thinking it would be better to just buy a cheap run around car. Can anyone from here help, will be flying to Athens then driving out from there about 2hrs drive to where we are staying . Any help appreciated
Thanks Kat

Hi! Am Chris Living in Athens looking to fet contact with some nice persons and sa a team to try to do something for this Country which suffers as result of the long-lasting actions of a number of IDIOTS who don't know anything about the lives of the normal ordinary - everyday people.
I have met almost all the Politicians (from all political parties) not because I was looking to but cause of my position in a sensitive Area in Greece where they go often pretending an interest of the Country .
Am a practical person able to solve problems immediately and I make applicable plans to help a lot of people .
Now days unemployment is no 1 issue of the State and every night on TV a bunch of cr.... talk and talk without saying anything.Everybody has a point and insist in that ignoring the same time the subject Only important is the presentation on the screen and they dont understand how the are manipulated by the masters of the show(see journalists).
I spend enough years abroad where I was proud to be a Greek and still I am but I get crazy when I see what happens here and how misinformed-is the public .
Thanks for reading and I hope that some will contact me in this try which now begins.
Chris
ps The beginning ( start) is the half way .......
wow Chris, sounds heavy eh..
Yes it is but am not giving up I will do by all means Tks/
I have brought several millions euros from Eu in Greece and should be much more if the Idiots weren't so stupid
There a lot of programs and many instant applicable ideas without any cost but its hard without colleges or partners
even Jesus had 12 apoostols Napoleon some Generals and so on
I am Nikos born in Texas USA by Greek parents. i am now living in Greece. Love to meet new friends.
Hi!! Hasnaa,
Thanks for asking. The movement to Athens has been very smooth..
The only thing I am missing at the movement is the social group. For some reason not get any opportunity to meet people from outside of my work place..
Rest all is going good.
Regards,
Vineet.

Hi
I'm Philippine, I come from Bordeaux (capital of the red wine in France ) and I'm in Athens since May (for a marketing internship in a Greek company). I would love to meet new friend to hang out in Athens for drink, to visit new stuff or to discover new activities!
Hi, my name is Morgan. I should be moving to Athens (Plaka) to live with my girlfriend around mid-October and will be looking to meet new people around my age (23). Interests include theatre, philosophy, folk music. Although I'll be hanging out with my girlfriend and her friends it'd be nice to meet people independently!
Hi!! There is a really good site, car.gr ,there you will probably find what you are looking for! Have a nice time and enjoy Greece!
Hi, I'm moving to Athens with my partner who is Greek at the end of the year. I've lived in Greece before, mainly in quite remote locations which I have found quite isolating. I also had to keep returning to the UK to work as there was no work. We're hoping to have better luck in Athens which is also my partner's home town.
It would be great to meet a few English speakers to socialise with while I'm also getting to grips with the Greek language and maybe find a little work if possible.
Look foward to meeting people!
I met my future wife in Thessalonika in late 1964, at the Youth Hostel there, and in the following March we visited some of the Greek islands - of which Mykonos stands out in our memory. We've never been back. Now in our old age we're looking for a place to retire, and I've been wondering how much Mykonos and the other Islands have changed. Would we enjoy them now? It would be unfair of me to ask for advice, but I'd like it if someone would offer a comment on my enquiry. Thank you.
hi, I live in Athens,I watch the news generally for greece and the world, social news as well. The Islands are not what they used to be,Myconos is one of the very popular ones especially for homosexual people,in the summer it gets a very crowded, too much so,I imagine there has been too much building of hotels, rooms etc..A young persons holiday destination,in fact I have heard that its pretty insane in the summer but of course it depends on what one is looking for.You must remember that health care can be very limited now on these Islands due to cut-backs and water is often an issue, desalination plants are being built on many Islands and drinking water must be bought in bottles..It wouldnt be my choice,I think there are far better areas to retire to with good health care access beautiful mountain water to drink,I do belive that greece is a great retirement place, still very safe and now they are modernising the public sector making admin so much easier for the public to deal with paper-work.You should come here and look around at various places of interest(in the winter as well)before you make any decisions. We built a house near old corinthos near Loutraki and it is a glorious area of outstanding beauty, mountains and sea,Loutraki has spa- baths from the mountain water,a lovely area to retire to,easy health care and only 1 hour half from athens airport, our little village is so pretty that they give us our own fire engine every summer in case of fire.
Thanks, Concertina - very useful information. Yes, I think we'll have a look around the neighbourhood of Loutrika, which is central to some lovely parts of the country. I well remember the canal, and points both south and north of it. Some day...!
Hello,
I'm Susan, been living in Loutraki, Greece for Thirty seven years...feel Greeker than the Greeks!
Love it here, wouldn't be anywhere else!
