If we are residents and self sufficiency I know we have to have private health insurance. We are both 50 and in good health does any one know approximately the cost of this

Also instead of health insurance privately can we pay the national insurance so can get the health publicly.  Thanks

ricky

If you are self -sufficient you cannot be self-employed and pay national insurance! It's not pick and choose !

The only big difference is that the national insurance covers everything and private does not cover pre-existing conditions. Private insurance is probably cheaper!

You do not have to have private health insurance being UK citizens to live here.

You can be entitled to Emergency Health Care etc by virtue of the Reciprocal Health Care Agreement between Malta & the UK.
