Hello! I'm a 26 year old gentleman, who will be arriving Nairobi at the end of September. I am looking for a house or a flat to move into with some good person or people. I will be taking a course at the East African Aviation School that shall take six (6) months, though I hope to extend it once I am there. As a student, I need an affordable, possibly furnished middleclass apartment that is safe and secure as well. My budget is between Ksh25 000 - 30 000. If you don't have a spare room, any and all helpful tips and contacts are welcomed. Cheers!

HI Duola,

The college is near the airport or mombasa road.  Its advisable you get accomodation near the school.  I have been assisting expats relocate and one of the challenges is getting furnished or shared accomodation near the airport. though you can get hotels

My advise is get unfurnished apartment or house i.e. in nyayo estate and its environs.

Best wishes
Paula

Hi Lemaestro!
Y ou could also try 'south C' estate which is located near mombasa road where for that amount you could get a comfortable one bedroom flat which is unfurnished for about 15,000 a month then you could furnish it simply with second hand furniture which is readily available in Nairobi and in good condition.

another estate near mombasa road is 'imara daima'. Transport to  the college is not a problem as the route is served by public means.

alternatively you could try a hostel  in Nairobi which is well managed and secure.

i also could give you contacts of a single guy who is willing to flat share you could contact him and discuss though he is not living near the school.

hope you will enjoy your stay in Nairobi.
all the best
