Hello,

I was just offered a job from education experts, I've been reading all the negative comments but wondering if anyone can tell me about the holidays or days off, how many?  Do you get a break between semesters? Can you choose to only work 10 months out of the year? Does anyone arrange trips within and outside the country for teacher to explore neighboring countries? Can you easily send money to America? Are there gyms? What does one do for fun in SA? Thanks in advance for any info.

Holidays or days off depends on your contract with the employer and T&Cs. Yes there is a break between semesters. You are free to travel to neighboring countries and yes there are travel agents here. You can send money to USA, no problem with that. Yes there are gyms in residential compounds and city streets. Fun depends on what you call fun. There are no movies or pubs here. People go to malls and shop and have fine dining. It also depends on what city you are in. Some more details and specific questions will help.

Thanks so much for your response. It really helps to get these answers. I'm going to try to find a job in Riyadh or Jeddah, at this point because my BA is in psychology, I'm not in the position to be too picky. I do have 4yrs exp. and a TESOL certificate though. I've been in china for 4years and I know all the frustration one can have living abroad but I'm pretty flexible. I would like to be able to send most of my salary back to USA, is that possible? And as long as there is a well equipped modern gym. I'm a happy bird.

Yes there is nothing stopping you from sending some or all of your money back to USA as long as you have a legal status in Saudi. And there is plenty of gyms around so you can be happy.
