prices for rent

Post new topic

Hi everybody, my rental agreement expire in August and I would like to know if for the second year I can get a rent reduction for the apartment?
Is this normal/possible ?
How are the rent prices this summer compare with the last year ?

Hi,

I think the only way you'll know, and have any negotiating power whatsoever is by finding another place to move to for less...

Gabor, thanks for your reply. I like the apartment where I am right now in 12 district, but since I will rent it for another year ,I am hoping to get a reduction.
So, is this situation normal in Budapest, the owner to reduce the price for the second year?

Consider yourself lucky if he doesn't raise it, with costs
increasing steeply.

On the other hand real estate prices are diving, foreclosures loom everywhere, and there is decreasing demand for the constant supply, so your landlord should be happy you don't switch.

I believe the only way you can go into a reduction is either to have a better or equal alternative as @szocske has put it. Or, if you have had any quality problems or the landlord/landlady letting you down on instances.
Hope this have helped.
Good luck,

Dez
