Free yellow fever vaccinations?

adefillo

Hi,

I heard we can get free yellow fever vaccinations. Is that true? If so, are there other free vaccinations we can get, such as typhoid?

Where do we get them if true?

Thanks!

There are certain vaccinations that you can obtain free of charge through SUS (Sistema Única da Saúde). I do not know exactly which ones are free and which you must pay for. Flu vaccine, MMR, Tetanus, Polio and Human Rabies vaccinations as far as I know are all free. I don't know if Yellow Fever is or not.

You would need to check at the UBS (Unidade Básica da Saúde) Public Health Clinic nearest you regarding vaccinations.

Note: Not all UBS clinics do vaccinations all year, some only do them during certain campaigns. You'll need to ask which ones are in operation at the moment.

Yellow fever is free as well, if you are living or going to travel in an affected area.
