I AM A NEW MEMBER, AND MY NAME IS JERRY. I LIVE IN THE U. S. MY GODSON/FRIEND LIVES IN NAIJA AND WOULD LIKE TO GET A TOURIST VISA TO VISIT HIS GHANIAN FRIEND IN BELGIUM. MY FRIEND GRADUATED FROM IMO STATE UNIVERSITY IN OWERRI AND NOW LIVES IN ABA. CAN ANYONE PLEASE GIVE ME INFORMATION OR SUGGESTIONS ABOUT GETTING A BELGIUM VISA, ESPECIALLY HOW MUCH MONEY MY FRIEND WOULD NEED IN HIS BANK ACCOUNT.

I HAVE VISITED NIGERIA TWICE. I HOPE TO VISIT AGAIN THIS YEAR. I HAVE KNOWN MY FRIEND AND HIS FAMILY FOR EIGHT YEARS. ANY HELPFUL INFORMATION YOU CAN GIVE ME I WILL APPRECIATE. ESPECIALLY FROM ANY NIGERIAN PERSON WHO HAS VISITED BELGIUM. THANKS.

KELECHAL, THANKS FOR WRITING ME. WHEN YOU SAY 600.000 DO YOU MEAN NAIRA? IF SO, THAT WOULD BE ABOUT $3,700.00 U. S. DOLLARS. I DOUBT VERY MUCH IF HE HAS THAT KIND OF MONEY. ALSO I AM NOT SURE HE WANTS TO GO THROUGH AN AGENT. I THINK HE WANTS TO SEND THE VISA APPLICATION TO THE BELGIAN EMBASSY AND GET AN APPOINTMENT FOR AN INTERVIEW AT WHICH TIME HE ASSUMES HE WILL HAVE TO PROVE HOW MUCH MONEY HE HAS IN THE BANK. I DOUBT IF HE HAS A LOT OF MONEY SINCE HE JUST GRADUATED LAST OCTOBER AND HAS NOT FOUND WORK YET.

I WILL TALK TO HIM ON MESSENGER AND TELL HIM  WHAT YOU WROTE ME. AND WHEN I ADD SOME MINUTES TO MY PHONE CARD I MIGHT BE ABLE TO CALL YOU AND TALK TO YOU.

AM JUST CURIOUS. ARE YOU YORUBA, IBO, HAUSA OR SOME OTHER TRIBE? MY FRIEND IS IBO WHICH YOU PROBABLY CAN TELL SINCE HE WENT TO IMO STATE AND IS IN ABA. WOULD YOU TELL ME WHAT CITY YOU LIVE IN? IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO TELL ME, NO WAHALA. LOL EVEN THOUGH I AM AN OYIBO, I KNOW A LITTLE NAIJA LANGUAGE. LOL TAKE CARE AND BE SAFE, SIR, AND AGAIN THANKS FOR WRITING ME.  JERRY

Hello Jerry,

I am Hans, a Belgian living in Belgium.  I had a Nigerian friend to visit me in Belgium last year.

In order to get his visa I had to take the following actions :

- prove i have a regular income (copies of bankaccount) (of me and my wife)
- write a letter of invitation stating the period he would come, how i know this person, stating the person would stay in my premises...
- sign a document that states that I would pay back all money for a period of 2 years if my friend would refuse to leave the country after his visit and would apply for social support at the government (that's a tough one).
- a copy of my tax papers
- proof of how my family is composed
- copy of my ID card
- proof my nationality
- proof of where i live

Asides that I think the person in Nigeria had to proof his income, money in the bank etc...

The best is to contact the Belgian embassy in Nigeria.  And get the exact procedure.  It might have changed.

Wish your friend good luck.

Cheers,
Hans

Hello Jerry

Please tell your friend not to go through any agent. He's.a Nigerian and should know best than to engage the services of anybody for visa application to anywhere.

He should go online and check the requirements for a Nigerian visiting Belgium. The requirements would be stated there. He can follow up with a visit to the nearest Belgian embassy for further clarification.

Do not pay anybody other than the Embassy or High Commission office for visa application.

Be guided please.

Regards

Byola

Hello hoopsguy,

Please and please and please again, ask your friend to apply for his visa at the embassy.

N600000 for a visa is LUDICROUS especially if it is a visit visa.

Haba!

Even if he wanted to go with an agency,  there are some online reliable groups he could contact for assistance.

600k? Smh
