I'm living in Hoi An and my parents will visit soon. While they are here we will go to Hue by private car, staying there for three days. I was thinking we could travel to Hue via the Hai Van Pass, and come back via Dong Giang to visit the Co Tu people and see a different type of scenery. Is this a good idea? I haven't been to Dong Giang so if anyone has done this, advice would be much appreciated! Thank you.

I visisted Dong Giang 2 years ago. It is quite different from Hoi an. One word is to describe about this place is Poor. Most of them are Co Tu as you know. I did come there, even to Tay Giang (next to Dong giang) in occasion of my own charity trip. If you're really interested in CO TU life, just let me know.
One more thing, THe road is not easy and you must find out the careful driver. It takes you around 3 hours from Hai Van Pass.

Cheers,

Hien
