Its not a different opinion, posting a diff opinion is covering up a fact to lie....I wouldnt be an act to that, I wouldn't just take it like that, meaning to say,I would never commend to the fact my government doesn't rebuff it,the bodies governing this offense is even more stricter than what people think, they dnt want no scams of international relationship.... Yes we have our flaws but hey its not a dump country as well
Nigeria used to be monopolized in the past because the govt were just into themselves, that scamming act just never rose,it rose from higher countries who knew that getting money wired there would never be questioned and that's because, people in govt looted money but newer bodies rose up to start looking into everything,Now you are questioned and in this decade where people are alert to believing in carefulness,Govt has cubbed it beyond thots.I am opened to frdship globally,do u think I hvnt met foreigners who has felt we cud do stuffs together, but why shud I get stupid to take another's sweat... English isn't so hard here,I amnt denying scam or 419 doesn't happen in my country,it happens everywhere n it cud be high in my country nigeria but to the fact that it is over looked as being or seen right is wrong, telling you that as watever nationality you might, and insulting you collectively is wrong, another person might stumble on this and believe that's the sole people and that's what happens there,He said Nigerians, weather in lagos or whatever state,it is wrong, I can't loot money and not be traced now,cos my documentation is now opened on the citizenship system in my country. I was in china few months ago n such happened to a nigerian man,his money was looted via his credit card and cheques he had presented in the past in china, they worked on another nigeria mind to join so it could be easy, what am I trying to say,it happens in my country,I amnt denying that fact but I spend 30days in china and before I left, this people were looted but money shared,if you look deeply how this started,it started thru making friends internationally and the mind of the less nigerian man is swept with the gain of no sweat, but when found, you will face the law,I will be silent on this issue cos I have attested to the truth without putting any self feelings but standing up to say,it is not just a hand shake stuff that u just scammed an innocent person. I am a Nigerian,I know about it,I report you, that's my take.

Hello ibilola,

Nobody here is saying that ALL scams come from Nigeria, nor are they saying that All Nigerians are scammers. If you think that is what has been said then you are reading too much into these postings. While we all appreciate the fact that you are Nigerian and thus have certain loyalties to your great nation (and it is a great nations) that does not alter facts.

Do scams happen in other countries? Obviously YES they do. Do scams originate from other countries? Again, YES they certainly do. Are ALL Nigerians involved in or do they condone scams? Clearly they don't.

However the fact remains that by current official estimates anywhere from 55 to 80% of internet scams do come from Nigeria. This is not a figure that has just been invented, it is a fact published by authorities. Regardless of what the Nigerian government has done and may be still doing with regard to stamping out internet fraud that iniciates from your country clearly these figures show that is simply is not enough. It is a truly frightening fact!

Rather than becoming defensive about a fact that is known worldwide, you might well direct your efforts and outrage to encouraging your government and your fellow Nigerians to do even more to resolve the problem. Until that happens the international image of your country is not going to change. I can tell you this from 13 years of experience living in Brazil. This country is the 5th largest economy in the world, it is fast becoming a so-called "first world" nation as some people refer to developed nations. However, the international image of Brazil remains extremely poor, simply because the government is reluctant to fight crime, they have an outdated Penal Code that favors crime and benefits criminals; and no matter what they do it will not change the rest of the world's perception of Brazil until they do something concrete to resolve the problem.

Nigeria is no different in this sense. As long as the problem continues to exist to the extent that is has reached; until your government can reduce the 55 to 80% figure substantially the international image of Nigeria will not change. If you are outraged then your outrage is misplaced. It should be directed to the efforts of your government that have, to date, been insufficient and to those of your countrymen who are doing everything in their power to destroy Nigeria's image internationally.

Shooting the messenger simply because you don't like the message doesn't change anything. If you are offended by the facts, then you change the facts in any way you can. You don't simply complain that people are stating them or try and cover them up.... Like the old saying goes, "If you're not part of the solution, then you're part of the problem". Should you be outraged.... clearly YES you should. But the means you chose to express that outrage are misplaced, you should become politically active within your own nation to encourage your government to take more aggressive action.

From all messages Read up Mr woodward, someone said Nigerian collectively and he had to correct himself to some Nigerians, you are just stating collectively, your term or ur frustrated indigo was termed Nigerian, all meaning to my hearing like that's wat goes on there,I think you shud be more explicit and have a fair side to issues,. You wouldn't educate me to be part of the movement in my country if you clearly read up as to what I wrote up. Be it as it may, its all up to your idea,

James

Are you quite finished?

We all got the message that you take great offense at anyone pointing out this problem in your country.

We all get that you're reading far more into these posts that is actually stated.

We all understand that this is just part of your national pride, something we all have.

And we all get that you're not going to change your opinion no matter what any of us say here, or the fact that the majority posting to this topic have expressed opinions directly opposite yours.

If you can point out and quote ONE SINGLE case of anybody here saying ALL NIGERIANS ARE SCAMMERS, or ALL SCAMS COME FROM NIGERIA, please feel free to do so. You won't find one anywhere here.

I'm sorry you're so upset, but that does not change the official facts and figures. There is absolutely no point whatsoever in repeating over and over that you're upset or don't agree. You're not disagreeing with me, but rather with Wikipedia and every other website about scams that exists on the internet, they all say exactly the same as has been stated here. In fact that's where ALL of these quotes have come from in the first place.

ibilola

As far am concerned,ur sarcastic opinion isn't tangible, This is how you vast your opinions,so its like going down your lane, which wouldnt be

ibilola

I just dunno ,its not about being upset,if you say my country is high rising to scam,no issues, every country is got a tag but for you to say its seen as right and collectively ascribing it,is way wrong,is english this vast,to comprehend, I am feel its wrong cos yea all over media but this is a forum where minds are convert to what you write. I am a nigerian, pple feel arabs are evil,I will not consent to that,if that is the opinion of my people to seeing this,I would not generalize it. You say its seen as Right, have you been part of the voice or face or arms to see that its not the world thinks, why should I be mad at what the world thinks,I am talking to you,as to what you think that dnt make the world further see, that there are no bodies cubbing, this,I have never used in Nigeria there are no scammers,I am offended that its seen as right which you said,or that you quoted from anywhere. I am sure others got my message,so trying to dialogue and explain what I have repeatedly said in simple tamed english,is crazy. You are the one who isn't flexible to discussion to understand. if Nigeria is seen as corruptible,ok but dnt say its seen as right and no one does anything abt it,its offensive
