Hello everyone, I just finished the inscription for the 2014 second CELPE-BRÂS examination, and unfortunately I do not have much information about how to prepare well for this exam. Anyone could give suggestions?
I am living here for around 6 years already, I  learned Portuguese mostly by myself.

Thank you.

James

Check out the following Google search results on the CELPE-Bras exam.

https://www.google.com.br/search?q=CELP … p;ie=UTF-8

The first one from the MEC actually has a PDF file which is an example of the 2007 exam. The 2 hour and 30 minute exam itself is in several parts; part 1 (video) 25 min. including the showing of the video, part 2 (audio) 25 min. including playing of the audio, parts 3 and 4 (written) involve reading a short text and then writing a similar text in Portuguese.

There are a couple of Youtube videos about the CELPE-Bras too.

You should also search on internet or local newspapere for particular portuguese teachers spécialised in preparing CELPE BRAS. They know the howto. If you have already a good portuguese level, a few jours should suffice.
Remind me that I should really make an effort to présent this exam....I am a bit lazy to study portuguese again because my level is enough for my day to days activities and I still continue to progress (slowly). But studying is only solution to reach next level: fluent/native and losing native accent.

If you have been that long in Brazil you must not encounter much problems... I studied by myself for it
it has a written, oral and audio part (if it is still the same, since I took it back in 2009)
you could practice with reading comprehension exercises and asking someone to make you questions of daily topics like..which Brazilian food you like? what is your favorite food? (this was one of my questions) They are looking for fluency, coherency, vocabulary and of course that they can understand you.
on the written part they gave some topics in which we had to expose our opinions, I believe mine had something to do with Pharmacies and drugs.

if try to pass CELPE, I would aim for higher advanced level indeed. It ils always better to do underesrimate complexity of exam ans get well prepared for it.
