HELLO everyone!Does anyone know about where to get help. I'm on a bridging visa that does not give me a medicare card, I am pregnant with my partner that is an Australian resident, We have found out that to give birth in Australia we will need about $15000 AUD to do so. The issue is that we don't have that sort of money and we would like to see if anyone knows about some funding to help us, or anything else that we can do?

Have you checked up with any Filipino communities for help.

I take it your partner is not Australian ?? If he is then he may be able to approach social services for assistance.

Hi, congratulations on your pregnancy! I know this is a tough situation, but here are some ideas that might help:

1. Community health services: Some local health centers offer free or cheap care for people without Medicare. Look for one near you.

2. Charities: Groups like the Red Cross, St. Vincent de Paul, or Pregnancy Help Australia might offer support or advice.

3. Hospital plans: Public hospitals sometimes offer payment plans or help for people who can’t afford the costs. Ask about speaking to a social worker.

4. Partner’s Medicare: Since your partner is an Australian resident, check if his status can help with your situation.

5. Legal advice: Talk to a migration agent or legal service. Being pregnant might allow you to get extra support or change your visa options.

I hope this helps, and good luck!
