As a foreigner here in Mexico and holding a Temporary Residence Permit currently plus being married to a Mexican Citizen I was wondering if someone might be able to give me some information about how long it is before you can apply for a Permanent Residence Permit - I have just received my first Temporary Permit but would like to know the time it takes to finally get the Permanent Residence Permit and what it involves when it comes to Immigration Documentation. Thanks for any advice or tips on this.

2 years on a RT and then you can apply for a RP. It costs the same to renew a RT as yuo previously paid and a little less to go from RT to RP when the time comes. You write a letter stating why you want to go from RT to RP. Then fill out the online form at the "tramite" SEGOB   INM website, print it out and take it into your local INM office when applying for a RP and fill out the form and print it out and take it with you when renewing your RT. Simple to do.
