I m planning to do PhD in Switzerland.

After doing PhD, I plan to work in Swizerland, but I can speak only english.

So, will it be a barrier to look for job?

If I plan to stay longer in Swizerland, Do I need to know French or German to communicate with locals?

English still can use to communicate with people?

Lastly, which is the average living cost for one person living in city? like zurich or geneva.

Millions Thanks :);)

Dear Winterleaf!

It wouldn't be a barrier at all, i am actually german native, but sometimes i switch to english due to the difficulty of swiss-german dialect which i am not used to.

Similar to Zuerich, Geneva is more expensive, i can not judge more in detail because i am new (6 month) as well in Basel.

Many nationalities are living here and can not even speak english, so don't worry!
