If you hear anything let me know .
Thanks : VV ...
Hi all,
I'm having the same visa renewal nightmares as the rest of you. My girlfriend has a work permit here (Vietnam) but as I am developing a website and not currently trading, I am using a B3 Business Multiple Entry Visa.
I renewed it in November 2014 and it cost $100 and now I have to renew it again - $380!!!
Is it the agent in the shop who is inflating the prices or the actual embassy? I don't know who is fleecing me!
Going thru an agent shouldn't cost more than about 135 to 150 bucks for a 6 mo. multi entry...but, don't be surprised if you end up having to actually leave and re-enter Vietnam...If you have a 'business' visa, the "company" should provide you with the new "LD Visa" and the information you need. If you are not "employed" and have no "real" sponsor (gotten from an agent) that you are working for...you should have a 'work permit' to back up the Visa/TRC for up to two years.
Sounds like you need to start with a 'tourist visa', once you have found a place to work, receiving a 'contract'...get the company/school to apply for a work permit. Make sure you have all the proper Personal papers for submission for a work permit or you will be wasting a lot of time and money...You will have to exit and re-enter once the 'sponsor' retains the permit and Visa/Temporary Residence Card (TRC).
just scouting around and found this, http://www.vietnamvisacorp.com/apply-visa.html seems to be current for Australia, hope its the same when I'm ready to move;; Anthony64 visa title can't be changed in the country , you have to leave!

Six month visas in Viet Nam went out years ago, it's also now much harder to get one in Cambodia.

Colin I wasn't trying to be funny , but sarcastic re the law changes, I'm more of a dog lover than a fan of humans, they aren't so fickle

I don't even have a dog anymore. It just hurts too much.
Yup, know what you mean, my best friend had been abandoned, found and dropped at the local vets, love at first sight for both of us. The vets had removed a lump from his back, which they assured me was just a cyst,we went home. I had prepared him a sand pit with sheep manure and potting mix, for his bones, I picked a huge 1 up from the supermarket on the way to get him. My mate had mange and looked like crap after such a long time on his own, I said to Harry, this is for you mate, he looked at me " wow" its huge,I said ," harry I want you to bury it here" and showed him where, next morning, sure enough, dogs love matured turd for their bones. Well the lump wasn't a cyst, it grew, I took him back and had it removed, 6 weeks later the hair had almost grown back when up it came again, Harry is buried under the orange tree my dad grafted and looked after for 55 years in my family home, now in the back yard of the house I am selling to come to Vietnam, It's hard to let some things go, memories and loved ones, just staying focused on the future not the past. pardon me for my weep
Hi everybody,
We are going off topic here.
Can we please concentrate on the topic itself which is : Trying to renew my visa for another 3 months
?
Thanks
Priscilla
Scuttlebutt has it that renewals are over.
I think it's just a Tết shakedown and we'll be back to $120 for a $10 visa in a few months.

Leaving behind ..
I understand . All of the Family I loved is dead , Mum just died , yeah . I am coming to marry a lady and raise her babe , and maybe have one more . It is my life dream . Last dream . In USA tired of being taxed to death , and our Politicians are Vampires . Why does the East beat the West ? I think they have a simpler way of looking at life .
Live in the present , the past is Dead . In my Families case this is true literally .
Cheers , I too come , but come for " now " .
Alas I lost a fine woman 2 year ago muddling through terrible changes here , struggles .
Bloke ... Just GO !!
Now ! Cheers V.V.

It seems people keep repeating the same questions or replies regarding the new visa rules that went into effect on January 1st 2015.
Instead of reading through the many replies/post where people speculate about all the possible scenarios - I suggest that you first read the government supplied decree on these visa rules yourself:
Download it from the link below:
47-2014-QH13.doc
After reading this document you will understand the proposed law but it won't tell you the specifics on how it will (and can) be carried out --> the answers to those questions can ONLY come from people who have had first-hand experience in obtaining/renewing visas and/or resident cards AFTER January 1st 2015 - disregard any other replies and posts to save time and further confusion.
I feel that Expat.com should have made the link to this document a 'sticky' in the Vietnam Visa forum so it could actually benefit those looking for concrete information - it seems though that the extra traffic/revenue generated by numerous duplicate posts, questions and replies has a higher priority.
I will repeat this post to help both site and members
Cheers,
Win
This has been posted before, look at article 9 section 7 7. When a visa is expired, its reissuance shall be considered. - See more at: http://blog.rushvietnamvisa.com/blog/20 … b4ixo.dpuf then read 2. The duration of a HN or DL visa is not longer than 03 months. - See more at: http://blog.rushvietnamvisa.com/blog/20 … b4ixo.dpuf

You go forward .
I am sewing up a injury claim and leaving .
my brother is a Christian man he says I am a quitter hello ?
I am not patriotic he tells me he will never leave the United States he talks about passing on and meeting people that have passed in the family imagine ... staying in a country talking about meeting people after you die .
Insane .
While I may be off topic , illustrating societal norms in countries such as mine USA is not off topic it is educational .
I too buried a beloved pet . Years ago , it showed me the value of having a child so one of my dreams in Vietnam is to have a child with someone I love I do not worry about who I will see after I die I am more excited about you I can see and who I can bless with kindness and care while I yet breathe .
Yes , I am a realist . My beloved is my life and where she is so shall my heart my soul and my deep love reside .
Bloke ... Let the Dead bury the Dead .
Live !!!!
Cheers my good friend . Whence I come we shall , dine together . Our wives will chat and you and I will have a drink a glass perhaps even a rare smoke and we will talk .
It is what Men do . Cheers my friend , God Speed ~

Is fighting a war to serve the interest of the few elites considered patriosm? I will be the first in line if ever Canada comes under attack. But as I see it we're just slaves without the formal title working to fatten the pocket of the elites in Western society. The unfortunate majority that is not privledged into the class of elitism.
Here in Vietnam as much we hate the elites back home we have the opportunity of becoming an elite.
Don't worry about 'Puppy Pot Roast'.....
'Kitty Cat Ca Ri' is the go now.....

If you need a hand with your Visa mate let me know. My girlfriend can help you out
My work permit/visa has been approved ... for TWO years. I was expecting one.
I managed to renew my Visa in December - I go through an agent through internet and upon arrival he got me a 3 months multi entries Visa. Cost me over $200.
I left for home in February and returned to HCMC on the same month(date is 28 Feb 2015)
Question is :
1) My current VISA (mul-ti entries) expires in 20 March 2015 which i applied on 20 Dec 2014.
2) My latest re-entry date to VN is is 28 Feb 2015
3) My stays in VN allows 30 days without VISA.
4) Now that my VISA expires on 20 March 2015, do i need to leave VN and re-apply for VISA?
Please note that my passport allows me 30 days stays in VN.
5) So i am lost /afraid how to move on from here now.
6) To leave the country before 20 March 2015 ( VISA expires date )
7) or leave the country before 20 March 2015 (re-entry to VN on 20 FEB 2015 with 30 days stay allow )
please help to advise
how and where to apply the work VISA?

December was before the new changes went into effect so the price paid should have been the normal price. Not sure how much 3 month multiple renewals were then but I did single (3rd consecutive renewal/4th visa ie 1 year without leaving) in late December for under $100.
I'm a little confused what do you mean "on arrival"? If you came into the country wouldn't you just use the immigration dept?

Hi Harry,
Vietnam food is nice, and Viet women are friendly, and pretty sometimes too, but beware, they are very poor and only want to get out of the yoke of their poverty and the crummy government. I married a Viet women only because I got involved in that country via my work, took language classes, and traveled there. One, you cannot own property there, unless you are married, but there are tough restrictions at every gate. Cars are super expensive because the government puts super-high taxes on imports and local cars. I am sorry to say you should look for some other country that is free-er. The Philippines I hear has a nice retirement plan via the government. I think you only have to be 35 years old or so. You could probably own a property there, and have less governmental hassles. There are probably other countries that are better too. I hear Ecuador is a super nice expat retirement country too.

I just got mine done for $195 for a single entry 3 month visa by New Youth Tourism (visavietnam.net.vn) The new rules do not affect the type of visa you need. This company does not ask for payment until you receive the visa. Going to Cambodia will cost you at least $220 plus the cost of going to Cambodia.

Actually a lot of people prefer going to Cambodia for the break and you can do it for around 170usd all up.
