Foreigner Taxation Status

guest 87

I'm currently nearing the end of my 12 month contract (June 1st 2014 - June 1st 2015) at the place I work.

I have a question regarding taxation on my final salary as there is some confusion regarding the area..

If i leave the country for  5 days to travel to Cambodia will I then be classed as a 'Non-resident' for tax purposes?

I'm pretty sure that if i stay for 12 months in one consecutive period i'm classed as a resident.

Can anybody give me a detailed and straight forward response please.

Thanks

Late response but I thought 183 days in a year triggered residency for tax purposes.

Yes I had also heard its a specific number of days but is that overall or just the days you work? I travel in and out but spend the majority of my time in Vietnam. Can anyone clarify?
Thanks

Its days in country working ir not.

If you go online Ernst and Young and Proce Waterhouse Coopers have pretty clear country taxation guides from memory.
