Yes, I agree with Lambada.
May I suggest meeting at Cafe Cuba in Sliema on Thursday evening?

Is this comment a reply to me or to the others that want to meet up?
lambada wrote:Hmm might be too crowded if the CSers meet there again. Not such a big place after all and they're usually quite a big group apparently.
There were maybe 40 of us last week- it was certainly quite busy upstairs anyway
Hey guys , I'm limited in going out to bars as I have to bus back to Marsaxlokk plus I don't really drink so I was wondering if next Sunday 8th if people wanted to come to marsaxlokk for the market and then join us at our house for tea coffee and a bit of food , a way to say hello and it means I dont have to leave dog for too long - if your interested pm me and I'll let you know what bus to get etc
Look forward to hearing from people
That works for me fine.

I would love to do that- the mention of the dog on it's own is enough to get me there! Obviously I would also like to go to the market and socialise!
I'm up for that! I can meet people in Valletta at the bus loop, I had taken the bus to Marsaxlokk twice so am familiar with it. Alternatively, if anyone drives we could carpool?
Café Cuba sounds perfect. I would prefer Friday rather than Thursday, but if Thursday is the consensus I can live with that What do you think Morky? You started this whole thing!
Okay well anyone who wants to come we can meet about 10am ish in marsaxlokk i wouldn't do it too much later as it can get really crowded with all the coaches etc
people can go round the market etc and then we can meet at the end which is opposite my house( if your getting the bus i can meet you at kavallerizza the 85 and 86 go straight there ) can come and meet sarjo and have a warm drink or a cold one depedning on the weather and ill have some nibbles and stuff its not a great big place but the lounge and kitchen are open plan so i can have a few people over .
if people wanted to go to one of the many restaurants bars along the sea front i would recommend doing it on any day but sunday lol

I have no idea where I'm going, so meeting at the bus loop works for me (sorry no car).
Okay, anyone who wants to join on Sunday send me a message and I'll give you my phone#. I'll check bus times and we can meet at bay 11 in Valletta at about 9am (the bus takes about 25 min to Marsaxlokk and may only run every 20 min or so, I think on Sundays it's bus x-86.
You will get more buses on a Sunday which is good and it is the x86 - anyone wanting my number message me
My idea of Thu and Cafe Cuba was that it wouldn't interfere with the CS group meeting on Friday evening: people could go to one or both if they wished. I'm still up for it if others are interested.
Hi all. I am keen for drinks on fri. Have we decided where yet?
Would also like to come to the market on Sun, that is very kind if you Rob!
Can't do Thurs I'm afraid.
Nicola
Here is a suggestion
Friday at 8:00pm at Cafe Cuba for coffee/drinks. We have time to chat and have a good time. CS group isn't really starting before 10:30. We can then stay, move elsewhere or join CS group...
That's the Cafe Cuba in Sliema at the ferries, or the one in St Julian's?
See y'all then!
I'm up for 8pm on Friday, but I thought you meant the St Julian's one at Spinola over the bay? If some people are going on to the CS meeting afterwards wouldn't that make more sense? Or is everyone else closer to Sliema?
Hey that's sounds great! I like the your suggestions Nange! I like the fact some of the places have heaters outside too... we just need a big space, warm and not extremely loud. I'm thinking it's better to meet straight in the bar than a meeting point before we head somewhere, it would be easier.
Il Gabbana sounds good (just seen some photos on the web) and Cafe cuba too... any preferences between the two? Let's have a final location by tomorrow! just so everyone have a chance to have a say...
So this Friday it is!!! (the 6th)! As for timing...I'm thinking 20:30 PM! (not too early and not too late)
...and indeed...the more merrier!

Some of us have met some of us, but all people are friends we haven't met yet.

You're right Kerry, it does. Sliema was initially for Thursaday and it would have been a less noisy time/place, but on Friday they're probably just as noisy. Also Sliema is closer to Valletta and there are more busses running to Sliema: a consideration for people coming from that direction.
St Julian one is just as easy for me to get to, we can switch the venue if all happy and agree.
Good point! So is everyone happy for the Cafe Cuba in Sliema on Friday 8PM? I can't wait to see all your faces finally!
Hey all,
Cafe Cuba in Sliema on Friday 8pm sounds grand! Am glad we have come to the decision before it gets to Friday!
See you all there.
Nicola
ilMalti- I've only met Rob in person. But perhaps we've met in previous lives?
Bruno from Belgium will be joining us, too.

Same here, as New Horizonz said ...it would be a pleasure to meet you! Have a nice trip and see you soon!
Hi.
I might come as well to Cafe Cuba this evening, but how to recognize ourselves?
lol you have mobile phones now .. this isnt a 1990s date where you would have to wonder round a bar speaking to everyone in hope you would find your date- those were the days lol
nervoulsy waiting everytime a fit person came in hoping it was them
anyway maybe you should all wear something green lol ...
i wont be there tonight but i look forward to meeting you all sunday
I have not been on this blog for a while, though coffee earlier has prompted me to take a look.:-)
I'll be honest, in my experience this is not the most active site for meeting people, unless you do what has happened for tonight and arrange something among members.
There are a number of expat groups around, and things like walking groups etc. All good for meeting people.
Obviously depends what you like, feel free to contact me if I can help, I'm approaching 2 years here now
You're very welcome to join us this evening and show us the ropes, well I speak for myself only. You might enjoy it and then join the CS group in St Julian later on. There is the Sunday daytime meeting in Mrsaxlokk too.
