Ecuador # 30 on cheap COL list

MSN just came out with a list of the 50 cheapest places to live in the world.
Ecuador was listed as # 30, with Mexico #19, Bolivia #16, The Philippines #15 and Colombia #10
It is obvious why the 9 cheapest are, for why would one want to live there?

#4 Tunisia
#3 Pakistan
#2 Nepal
#1 India

I'm (mildly) surprised that Mexico is cheaper than Ecuador, and only a little behind Philippines -- but most of my experience in Mexico is in the northern borderlands, where the US effect is greater -- and, no doubt, I've faced gringo pricing.
