Can Tho

sderb

Hi everyone. I would really like any info you have on Can Tho. I have the opportunity to take a job there or in Bien Hoa. Any help on - cost of living, accommodation, number of expats, amenities, internet and general info would be great.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks,

Sam.

The City of Poems is a study in contradictions. It's a big city populated by villagers.  There aren't a lot of expats nor a lot of tourist areas.  There are two theaters, both new, some good western food, not a lot of good Vietnamese food,  good internet when it's working, but this wouldn't be a good place for data center.  Real coffee can be had.  Best if you have the resources to entertain yourself.  Outdoor dining beats indoor.  Several upscale neighborhoods.  There's a prominent middle class.

The preponderance of villagers means a lot of trash, spitting, smoking, bad driving, and other suicidal behavior.  Very few enclaves of genteel company but there are a few, like Trung Nguyên at BigC.

Plenty of English schools, I could work as much as I want.

There's a new Lotte cinema at Big C.
