Women are relegated to 'shopping' .. such a superficial way to spend one's life.
Well Miss Allie , There is a Hookah place if your willing to drive for 30 minutes! in a resort that is.
but Im talking the guys to a hookah place near alHamra compound which is five minutes away from there!
sigh , the good old memories in alhamra compound learning Kendo with Sensei Hideku = (
Hi Khalid,
Actually I don't want to smoke (https://www.expat.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=24677 ). It's just sometimes it seems so easy for men to meet and do different things. For women? it's shopping and eating. So we're well dressed and fat
LOL , Well we dont have that many stuff to do ;P , its Hooka Food and Events in Riyadh.
Riyadh is known to be a workplace even to us natives , not much around to do!
and thank you for the post , yet i choose to turn a blind eye to it! *this coming from a Medical guy* because we dont have many other things here!
Anywhoos getting ready for a meeting so hope you have a good day today!
Thanks for the invite khalid,
Would have loved to join but my ministry of internal affairs has strictly prohibited smoking or any related activities or else heavy fines in in the form of sleeping on the couch will be administered.

They say smoking reduces weight, one lung at a time....
I hate smoking so much I've given up a thousand times, one day hopefully will be the last ciggy soon.
And I am not going near any hooka's or crabs!

Khalid, my dad died of lung cancer (a slow, painful death) after a lifetime of smoking and you're right, he had lost a lot of weight.
When you're young, you're invincible but it can catch up with you later. Please take care of yourself.

A ciggy: fire at one end and a fool at the other
thats what Dad taught me. God Bless him!

That fool is smart enough to throw the cigrate bud before fire lits up his face.
I know smoking is a bad habbit and bad for health but i still do it.
Anil
Well, anil, research has shown that nicotine is more addictive than cocaine.. difficult habit to break, I know.
Cancer is always linked to smoking and rightly so, my mother died of cancer at 37 but neither of my parents ever smoked, my wife has survived cancer and had never smoked up to then. My reason for wanting to give up is that I just want to stay healthier and live life when I'm older without struggling for breath and coughing all the time. It's gonna be hard but determined to quit before I reach 50 which isn't far off now. I feel like I am a slave to the ash, not a good way to live life?
When I was a young lad, smoking was 'trendy' and I am happy this situation is now reversed in many countries, I have spent many times standing in the cold rain outside just for the sake of a ciggy.......mad when you think about it yea?
Hi, Musicman knows who I am. My name is Yusuf and I will be moving to Riyadh Pretty soon!
Are there plenty of Hookah places in Riyadh - Because ive been told it costs £2 (between 11 and 12 Riyals) for one and are there shops which allow you buy one and smoke within one's home

Hookahs in Arabia are like their namesakes in any Red Light District of the "developed" free Western World.
You can sit and smoke within the joints or even buy your own Hookah mate to take home and do it yourself all he way through the hubbly bubbly.
Life is a big Hookah, they say...
It can put the screws on you.
Allie , Im sorry for your loss , may he rest in piece.
Im not one to deny the smi=oking facts , i am a med student after all. but its one of the things i do to take the edge of things in life.
Sledge , Yes I was going to take a group of guys on the forum to one of those Hooka places where it costs 10 -12 sr per hooka.
but didnt find that much of a reaction so i go with my friends every once in a while and will also go today.
You havent tried hooka untill you try it in Arabia , the source of most of the hooka brands
and yes there are plenty of shops that sell hooka goods where you can take one to your home
Have done hooka in the past both here in KSA and around the Middle East and it was fun, although usually when 3 or 4 of us went we were the only westerners there.
At the moment will stick to having the odd cuban, but may take you up on your offer when stacks are running low.
Just read that last para and it sounds perverted, should maybe have said smoke rather than have!
LOL @ Maser , well Cubans have been a phase of mine , Maduros to be precise and right after a nice steak !
Will look forward to it MM
MaserMan wrote:At the moment will stick to having the odd cuban,
LOL!! Does sound perverted but luckily for you, nobody else got it
If they did, let's just hope they assumed the 'odd cuban' was female
