Sending a Package Back to the States

Full Monty

Hi all,

I'm asking for a friend who needs to send a box of stuff back to America. It's quite valuable (several thousand dollars worth of scuba equipment) and fairly heavy (maybe 60/70 lbs).

There's no time limit, so no need to check in as luggage, as it probably won't be needed for the rest of this year. It can be shipped on a slow boat, or over land even. It getting there eventually is pretty important, apart from that there's the issue of cost; again not a big deal as it has to get there, somehow.

So, where in Riyadh could either collect it or accept a parcel - maybe 3 feet square - and get it to the US? If you've used a packing/shipping company and had a not terrible experience, would be glad to hear about it. There's no hurry as he's not leaving for 5/6 weeks, although sending it this weekend would be one less thing to worry about.

Thanks in advance!

My husband sent paperwork back, which I know is different but he found using dhl the best experience, if you search there website you should be able to,locate an office. I think with something so valuable it may be best to use a reputable company

Thanks, jomcp. I've used dhl for paperwork too and they've always been excellent. Expensive but worth every penny. I just did a search on their website and to send back a package as I describe would cost 28,065 Riyals, a bit pricey! lol  :o

Ouch, maybe not then lol

Maybe try 4 winds shipping...Usually they move entire houses or apartments, but maybe they would add it to a container headed that way that isn't full.

Thanks, I'll forward that suggestion!
